The new upgrade from Ethereum 1.0 to Ethereum 2.0 ("Serenity") improves the network’s speed, efficiency, and scalability, allowing it to handle more transactions. Ethereum 2.0 is a proof-of-stake blockchain. The consistency of transaction history is maintained not by miners solving an arbitrary mathematical problem but by a quorum of so-called validators. Validators verify the blocks and transactions, sign them with their validator keys, and feed this verification into the network.
Codefi Staking from ConsenSys provides a user interface for Ethereum escrow on the Ethereum 2.0 beacon chain and removes the challenges of running independent validator nodes. Codefi Staking will leverage Teku, ConsenSys' Eth2 client, for institutional staking.
